 Congregational Care

We are so blessed to be a part of the Wesley Methodist church family. As our members go through the many transitions in their lives, we are there to prayerfully lend a helping hand, a listening ear, and an open heart.

DivorceCare:
Divorce is a life-changing event - you don’t have to go through it alone.  Learn how to cope with the pain of divorce and acquire tools to rebuild your future.  With weekly biblical teaching and encouragement, individuals gain insight into dealing with issues such as anger, depression, loneliness, finances, and children’s needs, along with several others.   The 13-week session will begin October 5th - you are welcome to join at any point in the session.  The group will meet on Monday nights at 7 p.m., under the leadership of Rev. Mi Hyeon Lee-Pattison.  Come and find help, discover hope, and experience healing.

GriefShare™:
Grief can come about from many life experiences:  the loss of a loved one, the termination of employment, or the loss of a home, to name a few.  Come together with others who understand what you are feeling.  Each session of the Grief Recovery Support Group will feature biblical teaching, encouragement, and information to help people successfully travel the road from mourning to joy.  Classes will be held on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m., and Thursday afternoons at 4 p.m.   The group begins September 15th, and will be led by Don and Lea Landon.

Hospital Visitation Ministry:
Provide support and prayer to our members in local hospitals during times of need.

Stephen Ministry:
Can you Hear Jesus' Words of Comfort? In Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus tells his followers, "Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

  • Do you feel weary?
  • Does the yoke of life seem too difficult for you to carry alone?
  • Are your burdens too much to bear?

God has called some persons within our midst to Stephen Ministry.  These persons are trained and supported in walking with others through difficult times in their lives. Could you benefit from the care of a Stephen Minister?

Helping Hands
A group of people who have volunteered their time and talents to help those who can’t get things done on their own, or can’t pay for someone to do a job. Some of the jobs they have done are: painting either inside or out, cleaning rain gutters, washing windows, moving furniture, and many more. We encourage our congregation to call if they are in need. Our Helping Hands coordinator will then look at the job. If it’s one they can do, a group is called, and a time set to do it. The recipients pay only for materials needed. The volunteers receive no pay, except God’s blessings for helping one of His people.
  • Crisis Intervention (Help with contacts and referrals)
  • Visitation for the Homebound
